Wednesday 1st October 2008 - Before mummy and daddy came to see me this morning me and my nurse decided I should surprise them by putting some clothes on for the first time in nearly a month! It felt very strange at first but I soon got used to wearing something again and managed to get some of my medicine on my collar so it needs a wash already!
When mummy and daddy came in they were very pleased to see me dressed and I gave them a big smile to let them know I was happy to see them both. Daddy had a quick cuddle with me while my nurse changed my sheet and mummy played peek-a-boo with me.
Mummy and daddy left for a little while to get some breakfast and while they were gone I decided to attack one of the tubes sticking out of my nose. When my nurse wasn't looking I gave it a good pull and nearly got it out! My nurse wasn't as impressed as I was with my efforts however and tried to put it back which was most annoying! Unfortunately I had pulled it a bit too far so my nurse had to ask the lady with the X-ray thing to come and take a picture to see where the end of the tube was. The tube was very uncomfortable and was making me gag and then I was sick so they ended up taking it out completely!!! But then they put a new one in so I don't think I'll try that again...
Once I'd settled down mummy and daddy said they were going out for a little while. I tried to make them stay by crying when they washed their hands but they probably didn't hear me because they left me with my nurse. When they came back a bit later they had a magic black box a bit like our television at home but much smaller. Daddy put it on my bed next to me and then Iggle Piggle, Upsy Daisy, Makka Pakka and all my other friends from In The Night Garden suddenly appeared and starting singing and dancing! I was really happy and danced with mummy and daddy a bit before I watched my new DVD.
I was really happy to see my friends again and fell asleep when daddy put the small tv away. While I was asleep a nurse brought in a round parcel for me from all mummy's friends on Bounty. It was a beautiful collage of cards from lots of people and their children and made mummy and daddy smile lots. I also got a card from mummy's friend Alison and her family too. Then another nurse brought in a big teddy called Winnie the Pooh from some people who said we deserved a special treat because of what happened on Monday.
A different nurse was looking after me and she asked daddy all about me from when I was at home. Daddy told her how happy I always was and that I was drinking my milk and enjoying trying new things like chocolate and pasta and chicken. The nurse said she would speak to a doctor to see if I could have some milk from a bottle again! I hope the doctor says yes because I miss my bottle and all my different food.
When daddy came back my nurse said I could try a bottle of water to see if it would stay in my tummy. I had a little bit and couldn't wait to get the bottle from daddy! When the nurse was satisfied it was staying in my tummy she said I could even have some dinner! Daddy gave me Lamb, Carrot & Rosemary baby food and it was mmm mmm yummy! It was hard work eating again though so I had about a quarter of a tin then had a sleep.
Mummy and daddy came back again to see me and I woke up when they tried leaving. I started to cry and mummy came and gave me a cuddle. Then daddy had a cuddle with me again and gave me some more water which was nice. Hopefully tomorrow they'll let me have some milk in my bottle...!
