Friday 10th October 2008 - I kept daddy awake a lot last night. All my machines kept bleeping at different times and at 2am I decided I wasn't feeling too good again so was sick everywhere. Luckily for daddy the nurses looked after me so he didn't lose too much sleep!
My milk was stopped at 2am because I was due to go to theatre to have my hickman line removed, so I was getting pretty hungry by the morning! I gave daddy lots of smiles when he woke up and we had a big cuddle. He said I was looking a lot better than I was yesterday and my nurse agreed. When my doctors came in to see me they also said I looked a lot better so they weren't sure what to do! I wasn't red around my hickman line anymore and I was a lot more alert and attentive. Finally it was decided that I should have my procedure post-poned as the doctors felt it wasn't infected after all. Daddy was very pleased and we played some games and had more cuddles.
A little later a lady came to see me and said that I had to go downstairs to have a scan done on my head again. She said it was to make sure I wasn't bleeding in my brain and wouldn't take very long. It was very exciting being pushed around in my cot! I even went into a small room that moved and kept smiling at daddy to let him know I was having fun! When we got to the room where the scan was being done, a lady came in and put this yukky stuff on my hair. I didn't like it very much but was laughing at the lady that had taken me there. She was being silly with my toys whilst daddy was holding my hand.
When the lady had finished looking inside my head she told daddy there were no signs of any bleeding so she was happy. I had another ride in my cot and when I got back to my room I had some milk and a cuddle with daddy then had a sleep for a little while.
When I woke up there were some parcels and cards for me. I got some trousers and cardigan from mummy's friend Kaye, I got a pretty pink fairy dolly from nanny Maureen and some cards from Gem & Izzy and from Nicky and her family.
Daddy asked my nurse if I could go for a ride in a pushchair as I haven't been in one since daddy jumped out of the aeroplane in August. The nurse said she would ask and when she came back she said I could and had brought a pram! Daddy put me in it and we walked up and down a corridor outside my ward as I'm not allowed to go too far from the nurses just yet. I loved it and smiled and laughed at daddy especially when he went really fast and spun me around... It really was a pip!
When I got back to my room I had another sleep and when I woke up daddy gave me a quarter of a jar of Cauliflower Cheese. It was yummy and I wasn't sick afterwards so hopefully I'll start getting a bit stronger and bigger now. I had a little bit of milk from my bottle but then got tired so daddy laid me back in my cot and asked my nurse to put the rest down the tube in my nose. I fell asleep very quickly after that and hope I'm quieter tonight because I think daddy needs his beauty sleep...
