Saturday 11th October 2008 - My nurse came in to prick my heel so she could test my blood twice in the night. I was very good and let her do it without crying so I didn't wake daddy up all night! One of my machines did bleep a few times but daddy couldn't have heard it because he didn't get up to tell my nurse. Daddy woke me up in the morning and I gave him a really big smile to let him know I was happy to see him and was happy he slept well.
We had lots of cuddles this morning and daddy had to put me back in my cot when my doctors came to see me. They said I was looking a lot better so I smiled at them (I think if I smile they don't stab me so much - but don't tell them I said that...!) and daddy agreed and said I was much more like the Tiana I was at home - just a lot skinnier! Daddy said he was working on getting me fatter and had given me some creamed rice breakfast before my milk and I hadn't been sick. The doctors were very pleased and said daddy could give me more food later.
The doctors told daddy that one of my blood results had shown that my Warfarin levels were dangerously low again so I would need some more Heparin, which meant I needed to have the tube in my arm attached to the special medicine pump all day. Daddy was very disappointed because it meant he couldn't take me out for a ride like yesterday. I didn't mind though and played the bashing daddy game lots and lots and laughed and smiled to make daddy see I was happy.
Then daddy said that mummy would be coming down to see me later today so I got very excited. I thought he said she was here now though so kept looking for her but couldn't find her anywhere! I can't wait to see mummy because a lot has happened since she went to look after my big brother.
Daddy gave me cauliflower cheese for lunch which I really liked and then I had a little bit of milk from my bottle before I got too tired and my nurse put the rest through the tube in my nose. I had a little sleep and daddy tried to have a nap in the chair next to my cot but couldn't because he said the chair was too uncomfortable. So he held my hand while I dozed and when I woke up we played some more while we waited for mummy to come.
It started to get dark so daddy gave me my tea. I had bacon and baked beans and ate nearly half a tin! My nurse came to stab my heel again and I cried a lot more because daddy was awake so I didn't mind making a noise! Daddy made me feel better and we watched In the Night Garden while my tummy was being filled up with milk from the tube in my nose.
After In the Night Garden had finished I was very tired but mummy still hadn't arrived! So I kept playing with daddy and hoped she'd get to see me before I fell asleep. Daddy was being very silly with my pink rabbit teddy and I laughed a lot. Then I got very tired and, even though I tried very hard not to, I fell asleep. I wasn't asleep for very long when I heard mummy calling me! I woke up and mummy was smiling at me! I got very excited and held my arms out to her so she would give me a cuddle, which she did! It was the bestest mummy cuddle I've had since the last bestest mummy cuddle I had which seems like days ago! I really missed mummy (daddy has been great, but I still love mummy!) and smiled and giggled at her for a little while before I got tired again.
I fell asleep with a smile on my face and can't wait until tomorrow! I have mummy and daddy here again now so will have lots and lots of special cuddles and lots and lots of playtime too!
