16th October 2008 Ladybird Ward

Thursday 16th October 2008 - We've had another eventful day again today. The day started normally, I was woken up with my foot being stabbed and squeezed. Then mummy came in with daddy after daddy went to get a cup of coffee. When they came in they asked my nurse why the corridor outside the ward I'm in was full of smoke. My nurse didn't know but said it was being looked into.

Then all the alarms went off again and everybody started leaving the ward! My nurse came in with my doctor and told mummy and daddy we had to leave so my doctor pushed me out of the ward in my cot. We walked for a little while with lots of other people then my doctor said mummy would have to carry me down the stairs while daddy carried my IV syringe behind her. We went down some stairs and were told to wait in another ward. While we waited a nurse got mummy and daddy a drink and I had some pasta bolognese but wasn't very hungry. I was more interested in watching all the people in the ward and all the nurses running around...

After a little while we were told it was safe to go back to my normal ward so daddy carried me upstairs and mummy took my IV syringe. When we got upstairs daddy put me back in my cot and I was wheeled back to my room on my ward. I was very pleased to be back and even more pleased to see that none of my teddies had gone missing this time! I had some more of my pasta bolognese and then watched In the Night Garden. Mummy and daddy went outside for some fresh air and when they came back I had a little sleep.

When I woke up I had some cuddles with mummy and daddy and my nurse came in to stab my foot again. She told mummy and daddy that my levels are still fluctuating and they may have to start giving me injections. Now I'm not sure what one of those is but I don't think I'm going to like it very much and I think I might need more than one every day! Mummy and daddy asked if there was any way of avoiding me being injected but the nurse said no. Hopefully my levels will sort themselves out so I won't need the injections as my anti-biotics stop in 4 days but we'll have to wait and see.

Daddy has managed to get the TV working in our room so we watched Lazy Town and then Hollyoaks and Emmerdale (I think mummy likes them, not so sure daddy does though) which was good because I haven't watched TV for ages! Only problem is though, that I won't sleep while it's on in case I miss a good bit!

I've gained some more weight today and my morphine has been weaned some more so I'm on the right road at last! Mummy and daddy are still hoping I'll be able to go straight home once my levels are stable but there's still not been any confirmation. All I can do is keep eating lots, sleeping lots, playing lots and being cuddled lots!
