Friday 17th October 2008 - Daddy woke up early today and I was ready and waiting to play. I think I might have a man's flu though because I wasn't feeling too well and was sick while daddy was downstairs meeting mummy. They both cleaned me up though and I felt much better after I'd been sick so smiled a lot to let them know I was feeling better.
Daddy was a little bit quiet today and I think he's had enough of living in a hospital. We've been here for 6 weeks now and was in our local hospital for a week before that so it is a very long time. Mummy did her best to cheer daddy up and so did I by smiling a lot and playing. I even managed to sit in my bed for a lot longer than I have before so mummy and daddy were very impressed!
My doctors have been trying very hard to get my medicines right so they changed the amount of heparin I'm getting all day in my arm 3 times today. They still can't get them as they want them so are waiting for Monday when I finish my anti-biotics. They told mummy and daddy they might keep my hickman line in until the end of next week or the beginning of the week after. Other than my medicine levels they're very happy with my progress and like seeing me smile and laugh.
I had a lot of medicine after my lunch while I was asleep. My nurse put it all down my tube but left the nasty Nystatin for daddy to give to me when I woke up as I have to have it in my mouth to stop me getting infections. The problem is it tastes horrid so when daddy gave it to me I was very sick! It went in my hair, on the bandage on my arm, in my ear and all over my clothes and bedding. Mummy and daddy had to clean me up again but I was so yukky they decided to try giving me another bath. I enjoyed it much more today and even had a little splish splash and got daddy a little bit wet! When I was all clean mummy dried me all up and my hair was all spikey which made mummy and daddy laugh.
I played a little bit with mummy and daddy on the mat on the floor and they tried putting me in the same bendy positions like the lady did a couple of days ago. I wasn't too keen on playing those games though, I just wanted to play with my rattle and airfalant (Tiana means elephant) so I got grumpy and tired. I had a sleep and wasn't sick again for the rest of the day.
