Saturday 18th October 2008 - I was awake for a long time before daddy woke up today. I played quietly and kept peeping at him but I think he must've been very tired because he didn't even wake up when my alarms kept going off!
The man's flu I thought I had yesterday has gone back to the man that gave it to me I think, because I felt much better today and was full of energy! Mummy and daddy (when he finally got out of bed!) played lots of games with me and we had lots of cuddles. Then one of mummy's friends, Linda, from Heartline came to see me and brought mummy and daddy some yummy biscuits. I smiled at her to say thank you.
I was sick this morning and had to have my bedding changed again but I still haven't been weighed for a few days as there has been a problem with the scales on the ward giving the wrong weights. When my doctors came to see me this morning they told mummy and daddy they had managed to get my levels up at last so were much happier! Mummy and daddy asked about what care I would need when I go home. My doctor told them I'd need to have my warfarin, captopril, frusemide, spironactolone and maybe some other medicines too for a while. He said he was hoping they could start thinking about me leaving London by Thursday or Friday... but mummy and daddy think it may be the week after so we'll wait and see.
I had half a tin of chocolate pudding for lunch and then I had my milk through the tube in my nose. Just before I fell asleep my nurse gave me my nystatin... I fell asleep and mummy and daddy went outside for some fresh air. When they came back I was fast asleep! Only problem was that I'd been sick and was laying in it! Daddy picked me up while mummy changed my bedding. I got very upset while I was being cleaned up and mummy and daddy thought I was in pain! I was but not the sort of pain they thought... I was just very hungry because I'd sicked all my lunch up! I got so mad that I pulled my tube out of my nose so had to have a new one put in. Daddy realised I must be hungry and gave me some porridge and it was yummy! I ate half a jar and felt a lot better and I fell asleep again.
When I woke up my uncle Dom and my cousin Callum were here and my cousin, who isn't much older than me (he's nearly one and a half!), was really good. I kept watching him because I haven't seen someone that small for a long time! When uncle Dom and Callum left, mummy and daddy went out for some dinner.
When mummy and daddy came back from having their dinner I was wide awake again. I smiled lots at them and me and daddy had a cuddle in the chair by my cot. Then mummy showed me something on daddy's laptop that I haven't seen for such a long time... It was my In the Night Garden Dancing with Daddy page! I had to look twice and when I realised what it was I smiled the biggest smile ever and then me and daddy had our dance again! It was better than I remembered and daddy said that now I'm better we can do it everyday again! He did say that I am getting heavier though because his arms were aching but he didn't mind because he's been waiting for 7 weeks to have our dance again.
After we'd danced a couple of times mummy had a cuddle with me and I started feeling tired so mummy put me in my cot. I fell asleep very quickly and can't wait for tomorrow to get here so I can dance with daddy again.
