Tuesday 21st October 2008 - Daddy was up before I was awake today and mummy wasn't too long getting to see me either. Daddy was cuddling me when mummy came in and I smiled a big smile to say hello. I had half a jar of porridge for breakfast and even managed a little milk from my bottle too.
My doctors came to see me and were very happy that my liver has gone from 7cm to 1.5cm. An enlarged liver can be a sign of heart failure so having it return to near normal size is a good sign and shows how well I'm doing. My doctor told mummy and daddy my last antibiotic finishes tomorrow and then they'll start working on getting my warfarin levels right. They said they'll probably take my hickman line out early next week so it looks like I'll be here a little while longer. My doctors said it's rare for children to be on warfarin and they have to be certain they have my dose right so mummy and daddy understand it might take a little while before we can all go home. My doctor did say he thought I might be able to go straight home from London instead of to my local hospital though, so that was good news!
Mummy and daddy played some games with me before lunch and I ate half a jar of cheesy vegetables. Then I had lots of milk through my tube as I didn't want to drink it from my bottle when daddy tried. A little while later my nurse came in with some medicines... one of them was nystatin and, you can guess what's coming(!), I was sick all over my bed and hair and ears and eyes! Mummy, daddy and my nurse all cleaned me up and I had a little sleep.
When I woke up I was very hungry again so I had a little bit of egg custard and then one of mummy's friends arrived to see me. Her name was Gemma and she was here because her little niece was seeing some doctors here too. She was very nice and had brought me a little dolly called Fifi that I can cuddle and bash.
I also had some cards from Kirsty, Oliver and Evie from Baby Expert, Lauren, Andy, Faith and Finley from Baby Expert who also sent me a Little Miss Sunshine book, Charlotte, Chris, Jack and Amy Jebb from Bounty. So thank you to them for my cards and presents!
After I'd had a sleep in the afternoon daddy got me dressed and we all went out to see the big fat birds in the park! I was very disappointed when we got there though... There wasn't any to be seen anywhere! Then daddy got some bread out of a bag and all these birds came from all over the place! Some came from the trees, some from roof's, some from the road and some from other places! There were lots and lots and lots, everywhere I looked! They were obviously very hungry and I watched in amazement as they chased after bits of bread that mummy and daddy were throwing to them! After I'd got over the initial shock and surprise of seeing them I smiled lots at them because they were very funny!

After we'd saved lots of fat birds from starving, we walked around the park a bit and I saw some funny little creatures with big fluffy tails running about. They looked very cute and mummy and daddy called them squirrels. I was very impressed with how fast they could run and hope I can run that fast one day!
When we got back to the hospital we went to get mummy and daddy a hot drink and I watched a big TV on the wall. It was much bigger than the one in my room on Ladybird Ward and I was hooked! I could hear mummy and daddy calling me but I just wanted to watch the pretty things on the TV!
After mummy and daddy finished their drinks they brought me back to my room as I was very tired and mummy and daddy put me in my cot and I fell asleep. Tomorrow is another big day in my recovery as I finish my last antibiotic! I can start dreaming of going home to see my big brother now and I can't wait..!
